The mother and daughter duo behind Black to Basics came up with their business aspirations after moving to Quesnel in 2014. Shelly Andruchow and Michelle Ford noticed a desperate need for quality undergarments in the community noting that big-box stores just can’t offer quality bras that women’s bodies deserve.
The upscale bra boutique has proven to be a success with countless thankful women streaming through their doors everyday. Michelle notes that she and Shelly have become close with many of their customers, “the relationships we build with our customers are long-lasting and genuine.”
These two entrepreneurs put value in listening to their patrons, “it’s wonderful getting to make choices that matter to the people who frequent our business,” says Shelly.
Keeping selections affordable for the community of Quesnel is vital in promoting a shop local mentality.
