Meet Tyler & Julie Dinsdale
Tyler and Julie Dinsdale are passionate about rivers and paddling. Tyler began his guiding career with Big Canyon Rafting in 1999. For more than a decade he travelled as a river guide, leading expeditions and day trips on amazing rivers all over the world. When Tyler and Julie heard the business was for sale a few years ago, they couldn’t shake the idea that owning it was an exact fit for their lifestyle and passions- they had an excellent network of experienced raft guides to work with, a strong work ethic, and high safety standards. So in 2012 they bought it and have been loving it ever since.
Quesnel, they say, is the perfect location for a rafting company, with many different river sections providing experiences from relaxing float trips to thumping whitewater from June to September. Tyler and Julie feel that Big Canyon Rafting is an asset to the community. For many people, a rafting trip is their first experience on a river, and for others, it is an annual planned event that they look forward to. With their gear, experience and enthusiasm for getting people out there enjoying rivers, Big Canyon Rafting plays a part in growing and fostering the whitewater paddling community in the area.
Wild. Scenic. Adventure.
Big Canyon Rafting rafting has been providing exhilarating river rafting adventures to local residents for more than two decades. Big Canyon has rides for all ages and skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned thrill-seekers. Those who love the water but not the waves can book a leisurely float trip. Adrenaline junkies can choose a faster ride complete with rapids. Big Canyon Rafting offers day and multi-day trips as well as corporate and custom-tailored expeditions. All river guides are certified by the BC River Outfitters Association and the company provides comprehensive education and safety measures for adventurers.
