Meet Craig & Rebecca Sherstan
When Craig and Rebecca Sherstan took over Savalas Steak House in 2009, it was important to them that they only serve freshly-prepared, made-in-house food. Craig loves cooking and always wanted to own his own restaurant. Rebecca’s career background is in customer service. So when the opportunity arose for them the purchase Savalas Steak House, it seemed like a logical choice for both of them. They renovated the restaurant and created a new menu which, today, includes gluten-free dishes. In fact, notes Rebecca, “we can accommodate almost any dietary needs.” Fresh ingredients, many of them local, make dishes that are tasty and healthy and help to sustain the local economy at the same time.
Restaurant ownership means long hours and lots of work, and Craig and Rebecca keep very busy with their business. When they’re able to find some down time, though, they usually spend it with their kids. Quesnel, they note, is a wonderful place to raise kids, and filled with caring, friendly people. Craig and Rebecca are deeply appreciative of the community and they try to give back regularly. They’ve supported the Women’s Fall Challenge, Kid’s Bowling and cancer research.
