Meet Jessica Golden
Jessica moved to Quesnel for love and discovered a fantastic community full of friendly people. She has found that people in Quesnel make an effort to get to know you, remember your name, and go out of their way to help support you in any way they can. Jessica also likes the quiet pace of life in Quesnel as “the rush and pressure of living in a big city can be overwhelming.”
Jessica loves to cook and always hoped to provide healthy delicious food to people. She realized there was a niche to fill in providing healthy food for people on the go and so began Stay Golden Nutrition. “My customers are so appreciative and supportive,” said Jessica, “I get to know my regulars and can keep in contact to accommodate their requests.” Quesnel is small enough that word-of-mouth advertising is very effective and Jessica is pleased with her business’ positive reputation. A smaller centre means that it is easy for Jessica to obtain local ingredients and has found that local producers are eager to be involved. She is most proud of her attention to quality. “I never sacrifice the quality of my product, if I am not proud of a dish and every ingredient in it, I do not serve it,” she said. Jessica also works hard to operate Stay Golden Nutrition in a sustainable way and keep food waste to a minimum.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, keeping up-to-date on the latest nutritional research and practicing yoga.
