After moving to Quesnel in 2014, Shelly Andruchow pursued her business aspirations as Shelly and her daughter Michelle noticed a desperate need for quality undergarments in the community noting that big-box stores just can’t offer quality bras that women’s bodies deserve. Together in 2015, the mother-daughter duo opened Black to Basics with Shelly as the sole owner since 2017.
The upscale bra boutique has proven to be a success with countless thankful women streaming through their doors every day. Shelly has become close with many of her customers, “the relationships built with customers are long-lasting and genuine.” This local entrepreneur puts value in listening to her patrons, “it’s wonderful getting to make choices that matter to the people who frequent my business.”
Keeping selections affordable for the community of Quesnel is vital in promoting a shop local mentality.
